Mere Objects: pieces of a baby picture, beads, & yarn from a childhood toy. From age three to fifteen, this woman was repeatedly victimized by multiple perpetrators including a stranger, a neighbor, and a family member.
Now a self-described "momma bear" with two teenage daughters of her own, she writes, "As an adult, I've overcome substance abuse, suicide attempts, & self harming. The struggle is still present, but my strength is bigger. Not only did I survive, but I have THRIVED."
May you continue to thrive in ways your younger self -- or even your present self -- would not dare to hope for. May you discover places in this world where you feel wholly safe and at ease, and may you discover within yourself the courage to step into them, and rest a while.
