Mere Objects: tiny bits of a painting. While she was an art student, this woman was raped by her teacher and mentor, an internationally known artist. She says, "I thought I could forget [but] the damage would go into every part of me. It stole my soul, my well-being, my joy, my ability to connect with others. I was a walking zombie existing in pure survival mode."
Denied formal justice by both the legal system and her school, she has found a path forward in acts of creative expression -- including destroying her rapist's painting for this project.
May your unwavering truth-telling be the force that reclaims your strength, your joy, and the fullness of your being.
